Damage Policy

This Damage & Asset Care Policy governs the physical condition expectations, quality assessment frameworks, and liability criteria for all items during your rental tenancy. Every item undergoes a rigorous 12-point quality check before dispatch to guarantee peak performance.

1. Normal Wear and Tear vs. Assessable Damage

We understand that items experience standard usage patterns during normal handling. We categorize conditions using the matrix below:

  • Allowed (Normal Wear): Light superficial scuffs, minor hairline scratches on outer enclosures, or natural degradation of battery health indicators over extended rental terms. No deductions apply.
  • Assessable Damage (Customer Liability): Deep functional cracks, broken structural clips, water exposure/immersion, screen fractures, missing companion kit components (cables, lenses, caps, mounts), or internal component manipulation.

2. Damage Categories & Valuation Assessments

3. Reporting Procedures

If an asset suffers damage during your rental tenure, you must report the incident to hello@newdru.com within 24 hours of occurrence. Provide clear photographic or video evidence of the condition. Do not attempt to take the device to unauthorized local third-party repair shops; doing so voids our asset registry tracking and results in a full product replacement charge.

4. Dispute Resolution & Deposit Holds

In the event of an assessable damage dispute upon return pickup, Newdru Rental reserves the right to place a temporary hold on your Security Deposit balance while a formal invoice evaluation is conducted by our service engineers. Final assessment reports are shared within 5 business days of item recovery.
